Food Heroes spotlight and technical reminders
Avoiding problems when selling assured crops and livestock
When you sell your crops and livestock as assured your buyers will verify that your Red Tractor status is valid and that also means checking the details on our database match the sale documentation.
If they don’t match, for example the grain contract name is different, the CPH number or the additional site are not listed then this could jeopardise the sale and/or price you will receive.
To avoid this:
Check the details we hold on your Red Tractor Checkers profile and that everything is included – for example the trading title used for your Grain Contract, details of all the grains stores you use, CPH numbers for all sites. You can access your Checkers profile via the Red Tractor website.
Contact your Certification Body if any of the information is incorrect or missing and they will advise how to get it corrected.
In your renewal documentation always check all the information your certification body holds and advise them of any changes that should be made.

Poultry members weather reminder:
We know the weather can present unforeseen challenges with risks around flooding, storm damage to buildings and unexpected road closures which can compromise access to sites for staff, feed deliveries, depopulations, and so on.
If you’re aware of weather incidents that may affect you, it can be helpful to:
Go through your site’s emergency/contingency plan and make sure it’s up to date and that all key staff are aware of what it contains (DP.2)
Make sure your list of emergency contacts is up to date
Notify your CB or Red Tractor immediately if you experience a serious incident on farm, hatchery, in transport or at abattoir
