Red Tractor at NFU Conference
Members of the AFS Board and the Red Tractor team were delighted to meet with farmer members and stakeholders at the recent NFU Conference in Birmingham.
The Red Tractor team use events like these to meet with and listen to views of members and farming representatives.
Rishi Sunak, making an appearance, unveiled a set of fresh measures aimed at bolstering support for farmers. He acknowledged the crucial role British farmers play in supplying food and stewarding the countryside amidst numerous challenges.
The Prime Minister affirmed his commitment to never taking food security for granted, vowing to stand "by your side" as farmers navigate the significant changes associated with the ongoing transition away from basic payments. He also promised to maintain support for meat consumption, reject the imposition of mandatory environmental schemes on farmers' land, and ensure that the entire £2.4 billion annual farming budget directly benefits farmers.
